Brewster is a small, rural community half way between Colby and Goodland in Northwest Kansas. We are a mile north of I-70 which will link you up to eastern Kansas or Colorado. We are approximately three hours from Denver and Colorado Springs to the west. We are a 1A school for classifications purposes. We have a strong tradition of excellence both inside and outside the classrooms. We have a café, a grocery store, and bank in town for conveniences. We are also home to S & T Communications, the telecommunications provider for much of northwest Kansas.
Brewster operates on a four-day week schedule, Monday through Thursday. Friday is our off day and teachers are not required to report. Teachers are contracted for 154 school days and our salary schedule is competitive. Our teacher-contracted school day runs from 7:45 a.m. - 4:15 p.m.
Our staff is dedicated and experienced with the an average of 17 years of experience.
Academically, we offer our students Art, Spanish, Industrial Arts, Journalism, Band, Vocal, all core academic areas, complete offerings to allow for Kansas Regents Qualifications and Scholars, college dual credit courses for our juniors and seniors, and more. Our high school students have a variety of activities available to them including Cross Country, Volleyball, Football, Basketball, Drama, Scholar's Bowl, and Track and Field.
