We are accepting applications for a life science position (7th grade Science, HS Biology, Body Systems, and Advanced Biology). The applicant must hold a valid Kansas teaching license in the endorsed area by start date. Uniontown USD 235 is a rural school district of 454 students from Pre-K through 12th grade. Uniontown is located just south of Highway 54 fifteen miles west of Fort Scott and 20 miles east of Iola. Uniontown has a National Blue Ribbon Award winning PK-6th grade elementary school with 257 students enrolled in 2017-18. The JH/HS building had 197 enrolled students in 2017-18. Both the elementary and JH/HS buildings have strong academic programs. Uniontown is a very good location due to its distance from larger cities such as Pittsburg, Fort Scott, Kansas City and Joplin.
Technology used in the district includes a 1:1 initiative grades K-12. K-3 students use Ipads while grades 4-8 students use chromebooks and 9-12 students have laptops.
Extracurricular activities include a full offering of sports including football, cross country, volleyball, wrestling, basketball, baseball, softball and track. Non-athletic activities include cheerleading, forensics, scholars bowl, band, vocal and FFA.
