Dodge City Public Schools is seeking a Middle School Counselor who through utilizing leadership, advocacy, and collaboration, will promote student success, provide preventative services, and respond to identified student needs by implementing a comprehensive school counseling program that addresses academic, personal and social development for all students.
•Kansas certification in content area assignment or certification in a different state with qualifications that allow for licensure in Kansas. K-12 Counselor endorsement required. Highly Qualified under No Child Left Behind preferred. •Advanced degree, experience and/or specialized training in curriculum content and instructional pedagogy relative to assignment. •Knowledge and experience with instruction, methodology and materials related to bilingual education. ESL/ESOL endorsement preferred. •Demonstrated ability to work with fellow educators to develop, implement and evaluate instructional strategies and materials to improve teaching and learning for all students. •Kansas Certification of Health on file in the Central Office. •Personal Qualities - Appearance, grooming and personality which establish a desirable example for students. Ability to meet District standards for physical and mental health. Better than average recommendations from student teaching supervisors or other professionals who have observed the personal characteristics, scholastic attainment and classroom performance of the teacher.
