Athletic Director - Seaman High School

The Athletic Program at Seaman High School ranks in the top 6% of programs in the country as reported by in 2018.  We are searching for a proven leader who can build upon the success of our athletic programs. Our Athletic Director is responsible for the operation- direction- supervision- and leadership of all athletic programs at Seaman High School. The AD directs the hiring- training and evaluating of coaches- schedules events- prepares the master calendar- manages budgets- promotes programs- ensures compliance with all district and KSHSAA policies and procedures- and manages facilities. 




  • Assigning of staffing at athletic events
  • Assist in activities management
  • Assist with KESA accreditation 
  • Athletic Booster Club
  • Athletics management/budgets 
  • Athletic scheduling for all sports 
  • Auditorium scheduling and set-up
  • Coordinate with maintenance for athletic events
  • Coordination of school health services and student safety
  • Drills—fire- tornado- crisis- bus evacuation  
  • Drug prevention coordinator – Random Drug Testing Program
  • Evaluations of coaches- certified staff- classified staff
  • Gymnasium scheduling and set-up for non- athletic events
  • KSHSAA forms and compliance 
  • Master calendar
  • Practice and game observations/evaluations 
  • Public relations
  • School plant and facilities
  • Student eligibility reports (KSHSAA)
  • Special services liaison
  • Student physical forms- assumption of risk forms- and athletic injury paperwork
  • Supervise bus and student transportation
  • Supervise lunch periods
  • Transportation forms
  • Weekly bulletins 
  • Other duties as assigned by the building principal




  • Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral forms with all stakeholders
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all stakeholders
  • Ability to communicate matters of importance to staff- parents- community and administration
  • Ability to schedule- organize- plan- and attend meetings as necessary with district- league- and KSHSAA officials 


CERTIFICATION:  Licensed Kansas Teaching Certification- Licensed Building Administration.  Applicants must be appropriately endorsed or be eligible to obtain the appropriate endorsement for this position.


EDUCATION: Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership (or able to obtain within a specified timeframe)






  • Athletic Director experience at the high school level (preferred)
  • Five years classroom teaching experience (preferred)
  • Five years of successful coaching experience at the high school varsity or collegiate level
