Business Teacher

USD 397 Centre located at rural Lost Springs, Ks is looking for a 7-12 Business teacher for the 2019-202 school year.  Our students to teacher ration is very low which offers a great opportunity to build positive relationships and teach business education.  Candidates should be forward thinking and willing to work/collaborate within our Career and Technical Pathway.  Classes our CTE Pathway for the high school include Entrepreneurship, Applied Business Development-The "Perk" Coffee Shop, Accounting, Business Economics, Business Law, Investing, Marketing, Yearbook, and Consumer & Personal Finance.  The junior high level is a Business Essentials and Career and Life Planning class.  This is a great opportunity to design and build a supported program that applicants have a passion for, is relevant in today`s world, is fun, and exciting for students.

Supplemental contract options are also available for Yearbook and Cross Country.

Single BCBS health insurance policy is currently paid by the district. Other BCBS insurance options are available at employee cost. Vision and dental insurance, along with an array of benefits savings programs are available. 10 days leave, 3 personnel days, and bereavement . Salary is based on years of education and experience according to the salary schedule of the local professional negotiated agreement. Salaries for supplemental contracts are based on percentage of teacher base salary.

Centre USD 397 consists of 400 square miles nestled on the western fringe of the Flint Hills of Kansas. A K-12 attendance center is located on a 25-acre tract in the countryside two miles north of Lincolnville. Most of the district patrons are involved in farming and ranching or services that are related to the agricultural business community. More than 95% of the students reside over 2.5 miles from the attendance center and utilize district bus service from the communities of Lincolnville, Lost Springs, Burdick, Ramona, Pilsen and Tampa.

Centre is a technology rich district. All students work in a 1:1 environment with Apple products for all grade levels. Project-Based Learning is being implemented with a school garden, many agricultural projects, student run coffee shop and student run pod cast station. Centre also offers the Kansas Online Learning Program with 250+ additional classes for our high school students, as well as the traditional classroom learning.

Access to medical and local shopping is available within 10 miles of the school site and larger cities i.e., Manhattan, Emporia, Newton, Salina and Wichita are within a one-hour drive.
