Title: ESOL Instructor/Para Educator

Hourly Rate:Beginning Wage: $15.00 per hour

Weekly Hours: 19.5 hours per week

Transition: A transition meeting will be scheduled 

for the new instructor to meetwith the current instructor/para educator and District ESOL Coordinator to assist with the transition. 

Professional Learning: The ELL Instructor/Para Educator will 

have the opportunity to complete an Introductory ELL training with ESSDACK`s consultant, Robi Alstrom. USD 402 will cover the registration fee and will 

alsoprovide transportation.  

ESL Endorsement Opportunity: If the individual hired has a current teaching license  and would like to earn their ESL endorsement, USD 402 will cover the cost of the assessment preparation workshop as well as the Praxis assessment fee. This workshop series will assist participants in the preparation for the ESL Praxis. See addl details below.

Workshop: ESL Classroom Essentials:Improving Instruction, Preparing for the Praxis  (June 3,4,5,6, 2019)

This four-day series of workshops will help teachers understand foundational information in order to implement effective strategies to serve the English Language Learner. Participants will leave with experiences in the following areas: o Linguistics of the English Language of Theories of Language Acquisition o Instructional Theory and Teaching Techniques o Student Engagement and Management o Assessments o Cultural Understanding o Legal and Ethical Issues Title III funds can be used on this workshop series. Information gained from this four-day workshop series will assist participants in the preparation for the ESL Praxis. Materials are included in the workshop price.
