Ashland Elementary has a full-time opening for a Early Childhood Preschool teacher. This position primarily works with 4-year old special education and peer model students. Our school is a student centered building, with a progressive mind set, and strong staff and administrative team. USD 220 operates on a 4-day school week, and 166 day teacher contract. The classroom has a full-time para educator to help facilitate the needs of the students.

Ashland USD 220 is small rural district in southwest Kansas. We are located fifty miles south of Dodge City.
We operate on a four-day school week and our teachers are on a 166-day contract.
Our district is fiscally sound, and has competitive salary and benefits package. Our community is very supportive of K-12 education. We have 96% attendance rate and 95-100% graduation rate, and 95% of graduates pursue post-secondary education. Our average class size is about 17 students.
USD 220 has well-maintained buildings and grounds and the latest in classroom technology. Teachers are well-versed on the new Kansas College and Career Ready Standards and have already been using hands-on, problem-solving, cooperative learning strategies for years. Ashland schools are also a part of the Gemini I program, focused on redesigning the education process to be more innovative and student centered.
