Elementary (Lower School) teacher

Topeka Collegiate School (Preschool-8th Grade) in Topeka, Kansas seeks a dynamic and  collaborative educator to join our faculty to teach Preschool for the 2019-2020 school year.  Topeka Collegiate is a teacher’s dream with small class sizes (average of 12 students) and  motivated learners. 

The preschool curriculum is centered around different weekly themes, such  as “Community Helpers Week” or “Transportation Week.” Students learn through literature,  songs, movement, games, hands-on activities and play. Zoo Phonics, field trips to the pumpkin  patch and the Topeka Zoo, and a class assembly are all exciting aspects of the preschool  experience at Topeka Collegiate. 

The ideal candidate will have experience in early childhood or  elementary education, preferably in an independent school setting, and have a passion for  teaching young children in a diverse school community. Qualifications include a bachelor’s  degree in elementary education, appreciation for independent school education and a love of  young learners.
