Lakin High School will be in the 2A classification of KSHSAA starting in the 2018-2019 school year. We are located in rural Southwest Kansas with an average enrollment of 164 students.

Lakin USD #215 is located in Kearny County in Southwest Kansas. The district has approximately 675 students in grades PK-12. Lakin Elementary serves grades PK – 4 with a current enrollment of 311. Lakin Middle School houses grades 5 – 8 with an enrollment of 200. Lakin High School serves grades 9-12 with an enrollment of 164. LHS is currently in the 2A classification with KSHSAA.
USD #215 is blessed with some of the nicest facilities in the area and state. Lakin also has a 1:1 iPad initiative for grades 4-12, and Lakin Elementary has a large number of devices available as well. In addition, all teachers are provided a laptop and iPad.
Currently USD #215 has 55.5% economically disadvantaged students, approximately 30% ESL student population and 20% students are classified as migrant.
USD #215 offers a very competitive salary schedule. First year teachers with a bachelor’s degree earn $38,180 plus a very attractive benefit package with single health plans starting at $40.00 a month for the employee. In addition, a district cell phone plan is available to save employees money every month.
