High School English Teacher

Woodson USD #366 is looking for a high school English teacher to instruct 9th-12th graders at Yates Center High School starting in August of 2019.

We are a small rural district with approximately 70% of the students on free and reduced lunches.  A servant`s heart and willingness to go the extra mile to assure effective teaching and learning will be needed to become one of our "People Who Are the Difference!"

Allowance of 12 sick days, 3 of which can be used as personal days, accumulative to 50 days. A fringe benefit of $576 per month toward health insurance. Flexible Benefit Plan components may be selected for pre-tax deduction. 403b matching funds available in the amount of $50 per month. Board paid $20,000 life insurance policy. Opportunities for professional development offering both in-service points and college credit are available. 2018-2019 Base Salary is $35,400.00

Woodson School District 366 is a rural school district proudly serving the communities of Neosho Falls, Piqua, Toronto, and Yates Center. There are two attendance centers located in Yates Center with an enrollment of about 450 students.

The Elementary School serves Pre-Kindergarten through eighth grade students and the 2A High School serves ninth through twelfth grade students. Both schools are accredited by the Kansas State Department of Education.

Yates Center is located in southeast Kansas at the junction of US 75 Highway and US 54 Highway. Teachers living in Yates Center are less than two hours away from Kansas City, Wichita, Topeka, Tulsa and Joplin.

The district has high quality administrators, instructors, and professional support staff members serving our students educational needs. Our instructors have been recognized in the state and nation for their professional achievements and contributions to public education. Our buildings have received recognition from the State of Kansas for meeting Standard of Excellence criteria established by using diverse instructional methods and utilizing technology rich classrooms.
