Special Education Intermediate Autism/Behavior Teacher 2019-20 School Year Required Licensure/Endorsement: High Incidence or Interrelated special Education or Behavior Disorders or Learning Disabilities or Physically Impaired or Educable Mentally Retarded or Adaptive Special Education or Mentally Retarded.Preferred Experience and education: Middle School or High School experience along with substantial work in the areas of autism and behavior. A certificate in autism studies would be useful. The successful applicant will have strong teaching skills in the areas of autism and behavior.Job Description:  Lansing USD 469 has an intermediate school special education autism/behavior teacher position open for your consideration.  The intermediate school special education autism/behavior teacher will work with students to develop their individual potential--emotionally, socially, behaviorally and academically--to help prepare them for the world in which they live.  This position will require collaboration with families, teachers and other professional agencies in the community along with supervising para educators.   This position starts August 6, 2019.Lansing is a community of approximately 12,000 residents located in Leavenworth County, Kansas, approximately 15 miles northwest of the Legends/Speedway area and 30 minutes from any area in the Kansas City Metro area.Lansing Public Schools opened a new high school and athletic facilities in the fall of 2015 with 1 to 1 iPad technology.  Currently, there is one elementary school (K-3),  one intermediate school (4 & 5) one middle school, (6-8) and one high school (9-12). Enrollment has shown consistent growth and Lansing High School is currently a 5A high school as classified by KSHSAA.
