Special Education Teachers - Salina and surrounding districts

We have openings for special education teachers K-12 in both low incidence/functional and high incidence/adaptive settings.  Districts include:  Salina, Abilene, Chapman, Herington, Rural Vista, Southeast of Saline, Solomon, Ell-Saline, Minneapolis, Ellsworth, Central Plains, Twin Valley. .

Job Purpose: To provide specialized learning experiences and supervision of students with disabilities in a supportive and positive classroom climate that enables each student to develop the skills and knowledge as outlined in the Individualize Education Plan (IEP) for the student. Qualifications: 

  • Current Kansas Teaching Licensure with Special Education Endorsement or a current Kansas teaching license and a willingness to work on a special education waiver.  
  • Exhibit a personality that demonstrates enthusiasm and interpersonal skills to relate well with students, staff, administration, parents and the community.  
  • Have excellent intergrity and demosntrate good character and initiative. 
  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of child growth and development, children with disabilities, effective instructional strategies, classroom management, structured teaching, learning assessment and diagnosis, and research related to learning and children with exceptional needs.
