Student Information Coordinator

Nature and Scope of Job:

Under general supervision, the Student Information Coordinator shall maintain and support the Piper USD 203 Skyward student information system (SIS), serve as food service program coordinator, and perform other duties as assigned by the superintendent.

 

Job Functions/Responsibilities:

  • Oversight of Student Information System (SIS) Skyward
    • Maintain and support all functions of the SIS
    • Coordinate updates and ensure changes in system functionality are logged and reported
    • Serve as primary point of contact for support needs of staff, parents, and students
    • Perform annual rollover, as well as beginning and end of year processes
    • Training, support, and troubleshooting for district staff
    • Oversight of integrity and accuracy in data
    • Assist with data mining, exports, and external system integration needs
    • Attend yearly professional development to learn about available SIS updates and capabilities
  • Management of state-required reporting
    • Processing all state and federal data exports, cleanup, and uploads to the state
    • Maintain special education status and produce necessary reports for internal and external stakeholders
    • Administration of KIDS Database for KSDE state reporting purposes
  • Serve as the district Food Service Program Representative
    • Process free and reduced lunch applications and send follow-up correspondence accordingly to applicants
    • Annual verification of free and reduced applications to confirm eligibility status
    • Manage monthly Food Service claims, including reporting and state uploads, maintaining files for auditing purposes, and monitoring cash summary balances
    • Handle revenue deposits from meal service
    • Manage student food service account access
    • Notification of negative food service balances
    • Maintain required training hours for Food Service Representatives
    • Ensure Advisory Council meets state requirements for reporting of meetings
    • Oversight of Food Service Program renewal through the state of Kansas (KSDE)
    • Management of Direct Certification qualifiers received from the state
    • Monitor food service training expirations and input updates into state reporting system
  • Function as enrollment coordinator supporting school secretaries with student enrollment
    • Setup enrollment portal for annual enrollment of new and returning students
    • Electronic distribution of enrollment records received through Skyward to individual school buildings
    • Troubleshoot enrollment questions and concerns
    • Process enrollment applications for new students at Piper Elementary School
    • Facilitate annual meeting with secretaries to ensure proper enrollment procedures
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications:

  • Past experience with Skyward preferred
  • Demonstrates proficiency in data and analysis and ensures data accuracy
  • Strong communication skills
  • Experience with bookkeeping
  • Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively in order to accomplish multiple tasks
  • Attention to detail in order to ensure accuracy of state reporting and other detail-oriented tasks
  • Capability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong working knowledge of Windows-based computer systems, including the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to handle sensitive and/or personal information while maintaining confidentiality

Single paid health insurance. Salary Range: $45,000-$65,000 per year commensurate with education and experience
