USD #452 Stanton County Kansas is seeking a secondary language arts teacher for the 2020-2021 school year. This position currently teaches two sections of 8th Grade English, 7th Grade English and Senior English.

Position Benefits and Supplemental Contracts

  1. Our salary schedule has a bonus column to be used for the right individual. 2019-2020 base salary for this column is $44,650.
  2. Moving bonus to be included and is commensurate with the distance to be moved.
  3. Coaching and other supplemental duties may be available but aren`t required.
  4. 2019-2020 annual base salary is: $38,650.
  5. Benefits include paid time off days.
  6. District reimburses college hours and allows the user to advance on the pay scale.
  7. The district provides a one-time stipend of $1,000 for ESL endorsed, certified staff.
  8. The district provides single health insurance coverage.
  9. Stanton County participates in the Rural Opportunity Zones student loan repayment program. Once residence has been established, qualifying applicants receive $3,000 per year for five years for a total benefit of $15,000 to pay for student loan expenses.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  1. Knowledge of current course content, teaching methods, educational pedagogy, as well as differentiated instruction based upon student learning styles.
  2. Ability to use computer network system and software applications as needed.
  3. Ability to organize and coordinate work.
  4. Ability to communicate effectively with students and parents.
  5. Ability to engage in self-evaluation with regard to performance and professional growth.
  6. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others contacted in the course of work.

Qualifications Profile

  1. Kansas State Certification as a Language Arts Education Teacher
  2. Motor Vehicle Operator`s License or ability to provide own transportation.

Education

  1. Bachelors from an accredited college or university in education discipline applicable to teaching assignment preferred.

The town of Johnson is located in far southwest Kansas. USD 452 is a KSHSAA 2A district with 285 students in the Pre-K thru 6th; & 185 students 7th-12th. 

Certified Staff: 2018-2019 base salary is $38,650; with 5 years’ experience $40,550; Masters with -0- years’ experience $40,650. Benefits include paid time off days. The district provides single health insurance coverage ($501.32/month).

All buildings are air-conditioned, and the High School has an indoor pool. Student/teacher ratio is approximately 18/1. Every 7th through 12th-grade student has a Chromebook, as well as Chromebooks in the Elementary classrooms.  Each teacher has been provided a personal IPad.  Possible sponsorships and supplemental contracts available. Computer labs/internet access in each building.
