Sign Language Interpreter (ASL)

Keystone Learning Services (U.S.D 608) is an educational Interlocal with a focus on special education.  Keystone provides services to the seven school districts that surround Lake Perry.  These school districts are: Valley Falls, Jefferson County North, Jefferson County West, Oskaloosa, McLouth, Perry/Lecompton, Atchison County Community Schools and Easton School District .  Besides special education, Keystone facilitates other programs such as PAT, State Grants, Operations and Facilities Consultation and professional development.

The school districts served by Keystone are within a 30-minute drive of Lawrence, Topeka or the town of Atchison.  Keystone`s main office is located office in the town of Ozawkie (on the banks of Lake Perry).

Keystone is looking for a Sign Language Interpreter for the 2019-2020 school year. Keystone hires bright, energetic staff that are willing to try new innovative practices. The special education staff at Keystone have a close relationship with the districts they work in daily.  Most of the staff become active not only in Keystone but their district`s activities.  All of the school districts have adopted some form of MTSS and all of the districts are working together to provide high quality services for their students.

IEPs are written using WebKIDSS.  New staff often states that they are pleased to come to Keystone because of the support they receive in their first year(s).  Keystone has continued a mentoring program with new and returning staff.  A staff member is hired to provide individual training on writing and running an IEP, along with curriculum and behavior support.   Ask our current special education teachers about what makes working for the Keystone great, and they will tell you: strong administrative support, opportunities for professional growth, innovative practices, and great colleagues.  EOE
