In USD 210, we don’t just educate students, we create learning environments that allow students to dream!  Through innovation and collaboration our staff focuses on more than just the curriculum. They strive to imbed student interests into instruction creating a learner centered process, steeped in real-world relevance. 

 

USD 210 is looking for a world-class instrumental music teacher who has proven success in developing positive relationships with students, staff, and the community.   We are looking for an individual who has experience collaborating with educators to create learning opportunities in a 1:1 environment while fostering creativity and student voice in their learning.  

 

Hugoton Public Schools has showcased the premier marching and concert bands in Southwest Kansas, but panhandle region. Our marching band has consistently gotten top ratings at marching competitions both in the state of Kansas and in nearby states. Additionally, our concert band continues to receive high I ratings at state competitions. Currently, the high school band is nearing 70 members strong, with the middle school band having nearly 90. The Hugoton community has great pride in our instrumental performance!

Employee salary and Benefits:

Base Salary: Starting at $42,184

Insurance: Full  $500 Deductible Single Health and Dental Plan ($9,012 value)

District paid telehealth covering all in household (includes: physical and mental health)

Matching 403B

181 day contract with 12 discretionary days leave per year

Supplemental Band (Pep Band) - $3,500

Additional Day Contract (Marching Band/Concert Band Contests) - Daily Rate of Salary

The district has approximately 1050 students and 175 employees.  Typical elementary class sizes are between 15-18 students.  USD 210  has worked hard to keep up with the changes in technology to provide 21st century skills to students. The district has implemented a 1:1 ipad initiative PreK-12th grade. Using Seesaw, Google Classroom, Apptegy, and Swivl, we strive to make learning personal and fun.

 

The district is comprised of:  an early childhood center (ECDC) that serves students in preschool, kinderprep and kindergarten, an elementary school (HES) that serves grades 1st - 6th, a middle school (HMS) that serves grades 7 and 8, and a high school (HHS) for students in grades 9th -12th.
