The elementary classroom teacher position requires an upbeat, relational individual willing to collaborate with the staff and families of Stafford Schools.
Duties and Expectations:
-Conducts and models lessons, attitudes, and practices that will serve as a positive role model for youth.
-Establishes and maintains an orderly, focused classroom while setting and enforcing high expectations for acceptable student behavior and academic achievement
-Plans high-quality, hands-on lessons aligned to Kansas state standards in elementary grades for all core content areas, including but not limited to, reading, writing, spelling, grammar, math, science, and social studies.
-Maintains confidentiality of family and student information at all times
-Communicates with families in a timely manner through face-to-face, written (handwritten or digital), or via phone.
-Communicate any questions, comments, or concerns about students or their families to the principal in a timely manner.
-Participate in the Kansas mentoring program as required in state teacher licensing guidelines.
-Attends all required meetings and activities as a staff member (faculty meetings, committee meetings, required professional development, parent teacher conferences, etc.)
-Abides by all guidelines regarding professional conduct as outlined in the Stafford USD 349 Faculty Handbook, and the Student/Parent Handbook.
This position reports directly to the Principal and is evaluated according to Kansas statutes.
