Core Description

            The elementary classroom teacher position requires an upbeat, relational individual willing to collaborate with the staff and families of Stafford Schools. 

 

Duties and Expectations:

  • -Conducts and models lessons, attitudes, and practices that will serve as a positive role model for youth.
  • -Establishes and maintains an orderly, focused classroom while setting and enforcing high expectations for acceptable student behavior and academic achievement
  • -Plans high-quality, hands-on lessons aligned to Kansas state standards in elementary grades for all core content areas, including but not limited to, reading, writing, spelling, grammar, math, science, and social studies.
  • -Maintains confidentiality of family and student information at all times
  • -Communicates with families in a timely manner through face-to-face, written (handwritten or digital), or via phone.
  • -Communicate any questions, comments, or concerns about students or their families to the principal in a timely manner.
  • -Participate in the Kansas mentoring program as required in state teacher licensing guidelines.
  • -Attends all required meetings and activities as a staff member (faculty meetings, committee meetings, required professional development, parent teacher conferences, etc.)
  • -Abides by all guidelines regarding professional conduct as outlined in the Stafford USD 349 Faculty Handbook, and the Student/Parent Handbook.

 

Accountability

  • This position reports directly to the Principal and is evaluated according to Kansas statutes.

Medical and dental insurance is available to the teacher with the school contributing a portion towards a single or family. See Salary Schedule upon request; Base for teacher with BS is $39,200.00 - $41,900.00

  • USD 349 includes an Adult Learning Center.  We provide a high school dropout recovery program at our Adult Learning Center that serves the community
  • The local Board of Education takes leadership training seriously with their commitment to the Kansas Association of School Boards.  Two past members have served as President of KASB.
  • USD 349 has an active Education Foundation, endowing numerous scholarships for graduates and providing resources needed by staff and students.
