Middle School Tennis Coach

Overview:

  • Assist the Middle School Athletic Coordinator in providing a successful athletic program for Grades 6, 7 and 8
  • Provide student/athletes with an opportunity to participate in a successful tennis program.
  • Provide quality instruction and skill development for all student/athletes in our middle school program
  • Establish and maintain a positive line of communication with student/athletes, parents, coaches, faculty, administrators, and the community
  • Must have a clean driving record and pass a background check. Will have to drive a van to meets
  • This is a supplemental position that will be paid at an hourly rate, due to wage and hour laws. The stipend is for certified or Rule 10 only positions.
  • Maintain an accurate squad roster at all times.
  • Verify that no candidate is issued equipment or allowed to practice until he/she has completed a KSHSAA pre-participation physical exam, notarized insurance & medical release, and tryout/participation agreement forms.
  • Supervise practice and matches.
  • Serve as an advisor to the students on his/her squad.
  • Report injuries of participants to proper school officials. Follow injury policy as outlined by the athletic department.
  • Support to established decisions and policy decisions of a general nature that are in keeping with the established policies and procedures of the school.
  • Organize a system for uniform and equipment checkout and ensure that all students are accountable after each season
  •  

 

JOB GOAL:

To help each participating student achieve a high level of skill, an appreciation for the values of discipline and sportsmanship, and an increased level of self-esteem.

Previous coaching or playing experience preferred but not required


Coaching stipends are determined by previous experience


The season is from August 16 until October 15, 2021. Practice is M-Th from 3:30 – 5:00 PM at Genesis East.
