Title I Math/Instructional Coach

Title I Math/Instructional Coach


 

Purpose:  The Title I Math Specialist is responsible to ensure that rigorous, relevant curricula and instructional practices are implemented to increase student achievement in our tiered system.  


 

Responsible To:  The building principal


 

Qualifications:  Current Kansas State Teaching Certificate, Valid Driver’s license, Organizational skills, Interpersonal and group facilitation skills, Good communication skills.   K-6 teaching experience preferred.


 

Essential Functions:

The successful candidate for the Title I Math/Instructional Coach will:

 

  1. Support the vision and mission of USD307
  2. Possess human relation skills to work with groups of student and teachers K-6
  3. Provide effective instruction and instructional coaching
  4. Exhibit organizational skills
  5. Have knowledge or willingness to learn about national and state curriculum standards
  6. Promote the development of district-level curriculum, instruction, and assessments
  7. Serve as a team player with strong conflict resolution skills
  8. Understand and communicate complex ideas and concepts
  9. Present information regarding student achievement.
  10. Set goals, construct action plans and carry out such goals and plans
  11. Possess initiative to keep current on research about trends, innovations, and effective practices
  12. Possess strong technology skills
  13. Work collaboratively and communicate effectively with administrators, teachers, and other school staff to strengthen all aspects of instruction
     

Responsibilities:

  1.  
  2. Ensure that the state and district content standards are the foundation of instruction
  3. Provide instruction to tier III students in small groups
  4. Collaborate with Title I Math para
  5. Work with teachers in assessing problem areas in curriculum and instruction  and in finding and implementing appropriate solutions
  6. Introduce teachers to new methods, materials, and instructional strategies that, through research, have proven to increase student achievement
  7. Provide staff development
  8. Model best practice
  9. Make informal observations to provide teachers with immediate feedback for instructional support
  10. Observe district policies
  11. Analyze and monitor data in order to dplan with building personnel
  12. Assist with coordination , writing, and distribution of curriculum
  13. Expand knowledge of mathematical instruction
  14. Ability to plan organizational and team activities
  15. Perform other duties as directed/required
     




Ell Saline USD 307


USD 307 pays for $600 towards the District Health Insurance as well as $70 per month toward a 403b Retirement Plan. We offer 13 discretionary leave days and a teacher-friendly calendar. We have a grant fund for teachers to receive assistance with paying for advanced degree college courses. The Cardinal Foundation offers mini-grants yearly to assist teachers with additional needs.
